About Me
Biography: Deceased: June 23, 2021. With grieving hearts, we announce the death of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Eric Lance Mudama, at the age of 82. Eric was born in Jackson Heights, NY, on November 23, 1938, to Harry Eric and Magdalene (Konstackle) Mudama. He died peacefully at the Hospice of the Valley Sherman Home on June 23, 2021, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Betsy (Eberle); daughter Sarah (Bruce) Huber; sister Fredrica (Bicki) Mudama; and four adored grandchildren: Emilie, Anna, Daisy, and Andrew Huber. He was predeceased by his parents and his son, Eric Danforth Mudama. Eric grew up in New Jersey and was an accomplished athlete and student. He was valedictorian of his high school class and a very proud graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. He was honored to have been a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He had a long and successful business career in the electronics industry, working in Boston; Silicon Valley, CA; and Phoenix, AZ. Eric had deep respect and abiding love for his family’s immigrant background. His grandparents had immigrated to New York from Estonia and Lithuania very early in the 1900’s. They arrived with an unshakable faith in God, very strong work ethics, and an immeasurable determination to give their future children and grandchildren the very best opportunities available for education and success in their new country. Eric’s parents fostered those same values in their two children while showering them with boundless love. His family’s story was truly an American story, the American Dream come true. He was thrilled to be able to take his father back to the island of Hiiumaa, Estonia in 1997 to meet with long-lost family members after a separation of nearly 80 years.
