| Biography: |
I was commissioned as a Navy Officer via Navy ROTC at MIT in 1977. My assignments at sea included engineering and operations positions in USS ENTERPRISE, USS FOX, and USS ARKANSAS. I was executive officer in USS JARRETT, and commanded USS FORD. My assignments ashore included the Navy Nuclear Power Training Unit Idaho Falls; the Headquarters of NATO Allied Forces Southern Europe in Naples, Italy; the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in Washington; chief of staff at the Naval Surface Group Pacific Northwest, in Everett, Washington; and in command of the NROTC unit at the University of Washington. I retired from the Navy in 2007, and after a few years at a non-profit defense contractor (working for the Navy), I am now the assistant director of the International Pacific Halibut Commission in Seattle. I am married to (former chapter sweetheart) Cecilia Sweeney of Butte, Montana, and we have two beautiful daughters, Catherine and Theresa. |
