It was great to see alums from various classes at the Open House held at 532 Beacon Street on Friday afternoon of the recent Tech Reunion.
For the past few years, MIT has reserved a window on the MIT reunion schedule for living group open houses, and this has afforded a great opportunity for Alpha Theta alums who are in town for their MIT class reunions to come and visit 532 Beacon Street.
Alums were able to meet some of the active brothers (some of them seniors who had just received their degrees earlier in the day!) and learn what has changed (some things) and what is still the same (quite a lot!) in the Alpha Theta experience. It was also an opportunity for some spouses to see Alpha Theta for the first time!
If you are contemplating coming back to MIT for your next milestone class reunion, be sure to stop by Sigma Chi as part of the trip!
And, of course, plan to attend the next huge Alpha Theta reunion -- our 130th anniversary reunion in the spring of 2012! Stay tuned for dates....

The chapter recently held a pilot Alumni Career Night that was a great success.
On Sunday evening, February 28, actives packed the Library to hear a panel of five alums talk about their current jobs and their career paths, offer career advice and answer questions.
Three of the alums were from the local Boston area and were present in the Library, while two of the alums were remote, participating via video conference.
Alumni panelists -- representing a variety of industries, careers, majors and eras -- were: Jay Wurts '70, Dave Pinsky '70, John Martin '86 (remote from Colorado), Jon Demerly '92 (remote from Michigan), and Kevin Wang '03.
Photos from the evening can be found here.
Given the success of this pilot, the actives are eager to see this type of evening repeated again in the future.
If you would be interested in participating in a future Alumni Career Night, or have the name of another Alpha Theta alum you think might be interested, please let me know!

Brothers,
I recently changed jobs and have a new lease on life-- switched from a high-travel, long-hours job to a no-travel, almost 9-5 job. The past 6 years, I felt like I wasn't spending enough time with my family, so I also lost contact with friends, gave up hobbies, became less involved at church. . . Now I'm trying to make up for lost time, and things have been great-- I'm so much closer to my wife and 3 sons, am taking up tennis again, and am getting involved in our new church. Next up is reconnecting with friends.
On that point, a bunch of us 92ers are planning to get together at the 125th. We hope to see a lot of people from our era there, too! Hey, Gidado-Yisa Immanuel (formerly known as Alou), where the heck are you? We've tracked down everyone else in our pledge class and would love to hear from you, too.
Can't wait to see you guys at the reunion!

After going into the hibernation of home remodeling, Cele and I have emerged back into the light (with a nice house!), and are busy trying to catch up with freinds far and near.
We are firmly planted in Seattle, where I am currently assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Naval ROTC at the University of Washington. Next year I will complete 30 years of Navy service and 'transition' into the civilian workforce. We're hoping that many of you can join us for the big party next April or May to celebrate. Details to follow...

Just surfed onto your site as a result of its being featured on the National site today and wanted to congratulate you on a good job. I was at MIT last Spring for a conference and indulged my passion for lap swimming in your fine pool, my passion for fine art at the Museum of Fine Arts one rainy afternoon, and my passion for fine food in one of Boston's seafood restaurants. Had I time I would have further indulged myself by stopping by the chapter house and paying my respects and regards, which I will definitely do the next time I am in Boston. Godspeed and Best Wishes to you all!

I'm thrilled to report that I am still scheduled to get married to Marketa Vochoskova on June 19th in a little town called Trebon in Southern Czech Republic. And what a blessing it will be to have so many brothers coming to the wedding! Later this summer (August 14th), I'll be having a reception at my dad's ranch in Colorado, if anyone else is up for some horseback-riding, canoeing, fly fishing, hiking, and some good times around the camp fire. Most importantly, I've realized that...God is good.

Dear Brothers,
Thanks to all who've clearly worked so hard to create a sweet website! Nicely done!
Thought I would take a few minutes to update you all. I'm still living in the San Francisco Bay Area and very pleased to say after a few years honing my trip design and leading skills with another operator, I'm now in the second year of building my adventure travel business, Black Sheep Adventures. I'm offering six-day biking, hiking, and water sport adventures to Baja, Cape Cod, Death Valley, and Holland in 2004. Check out http://BlackSheepAdventures.com
Brian Robertson and I have planned a class of '96 reunion adventure trip down in Baja for next month. Most of the class and our significant others will be joining us enjoying a sweet vacation hiking, kayaking, scuba diving and sport fishing. It promises to be a great time bringing the class together and testing out my new Baja adventure itinerary.
Love to hear from more of you (and of course wouldn't mind having you on a trip)! Call me at 415-302-9094 or email me at: Fred@BlackSheepAdventures.com

Still haven't escaped from Boston yet. Got a day job, two startups on the side, an intermittent gig singing with the Pops, and a girlfriend keeping me busy. Still hang out quite a bit with the other recent alums in town. We're all quite fond of SCF's sushi bar.
